Softball Recap: Walnut Ridge Triumphs

Walnut Ridge gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against the Harrisburg Hornets by a score of 6-2. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Ashtyn Bradley made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Kinzlee Schutzius was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Mallory Moore, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

Walnut Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harrisburg only managed four hits.

Walnut Ridge now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Harrisburg, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Walnut Ridge will face off against Newport at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Harrisburg, they will challenge Rivercrest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
