League recap: Westmoore tops Bixby to extend winning streak

Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A District 2 this week, Westmoore beat Bixby 37-29. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Broken Arrow was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to fifth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Tigers defeated Muskogee 65-10.

Marshall Ray threw for 347 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was 22-39 with 2 interceptions.

Jamal Shaw was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 200 yards as Broken Arrow lost to Westmoore. Warren Leak also contributed to the rushing game with 59 yards on the ground.

Bixby's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Spartans feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ray has thrown for 1,360 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Rhine has 21 catches for 479 yards.

The marquee game in 6A District 2 this week will be the clash between Bixby and Steve Spavital's team. Loren Montgomery's team comes into the matchup ranked 13th in the state, while the Tigers ranks third.

Sapulpa was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Putnam City. The Chieftains came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 29 last week.
