It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Jackson had no problem doing just that on Friday. Everything went their way against the St. Michael Catholic Cardinals as they made off with a 44-23 win. The Aggies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by 21 points or more this season.
Jackson was led to victory by Landon Duckworth and Ezavier Crowell. Duckworth rushed for 209 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries, while Crowell rushed for 230 yards and two scores while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. What's more, Duckworth posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in October. Keeyun Chapman did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 133 receiving yards.
St. Michael Catholic's loss came despite strong showings from Noah Moss and Gunner Rivers. Moss rushed for 69 yards and a pair of TDs, while Rivers threw for 206 yards on 21 of 40 attempts. Moss has been hot recently, having also posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last four times he's played.
The victory (which was Jackson's seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.3 points on average over those games. As for St. Michael Catholic, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 13-1.
Jackson wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 52-0 victory against Anniston on the 5th. St. Michael Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
