Baseball Recap: Cache Drops Highest Score of Season Against Lawton

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cache). Everything went their way against the Lawton Wolverines on Friday as Cache made off with a 21-6 win. The victory continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won four in a row.

Jett Pineda and Deshaun Harvey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Pineda tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Harvey pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Furthermore, Pineda didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. At bat, Pineda scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Harvey scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Those two hits gave Pineda a new career-high.

In other batting news, Luke Montgomery was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Brody Smith was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Cache was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .485. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawton only posted a batting average of .350.

Cache picked up their first home win, bumping their record up to 3-6. As for Lawton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-13.

Cache wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 8-3 loss against Tuttle on the 25th. As for Lawton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-1 defeat against Duncan on the 24th.
