The Silver Lake Mustangs will venture away from home to challenge the Kenesaw Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Silver Lake has three straight wins, Kenesaw has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
Silver Lake will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Gibbon, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Mustangs strolled past the Buffaloes with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 63-49. Surprisingly, this marked the Mustangs' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Silver Lake to victory, but perhaps none more so than Beau Bonifas, who posted 15 points along with five assists and five boards. Those 15 points gave Bonifas a new career-high. Jaxon TenBensel was another key player, putting up 15 points and six rebounds.
Silver Lake smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 15 offensive rebounds in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Kenesaw played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 77-48 loss at the hands of Doniphan-Trumbull. The Blue Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-25.
Silver Lake will have to keep a close watch on Adam Denkert and Lieron Suck, a pair of players who had a big impact on Kenesaw's prior game. Denkert went 6-for-9 on his way to 15 points and five boards, while Suck shot 50% from the field en route to 12 points and eight rebounds. Denkert's big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jett Dixon, who put up four points.
Kenesaw's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Silver Lake, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Silver Lake has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.2 boards per game. However, it's not like Kenesaw struggles in that department as they've been averaging 26.8 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Silver Lake didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Kenesaw in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 37-31 win. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
