Soccer Game Preview: John F. Kennedy vs. La Vernia

The John F. Kennedy Rockets will take on the La Vernia Bears at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. John F. Kennedy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Friday just wasn't the day for John F. Kennedy's offense. They lost 3-0 to Gonzales on Friday.

Meanwhile, La Vernia had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They never let the Cardinals onto the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Bears have won four matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

La Vernia pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for John F. Kennedy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5-1.

John F. Kennedy suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to La Vernia in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Can John F. Kennedy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
