Soccer Game Preview: Kearney vs. Schuyler

The Kearney Bearcats will take on the Schuyler Warriors in a tournament on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kearney barely beat Lincoln Northeast the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bearcats were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Rockets on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for Kearney, who have now won three matchups in a row.

They hit Lincoln Northeast with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Gordy Garner, Kaden Slaymaker, Aiden Nutter, and Drake Schwarz.

Meanwhile, Schuyler kept a clean sheet against Lakeview on Tuesday. They blew past the Vikings 10-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for Schuyler.

Schuyler's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Kearney, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Kearney took their win against Schuyler when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 5-1 score. In that contest, the Bearcats amassed a halftime lead of 5-1, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
