Preview: Stoneman Douglas Eagles vs. Taravella Trojans
Stoneman Douglas is 9-1 against the Trojans since December of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Stoneman Douglas Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Taravella Trojans at 6:00 p.m. Taravella took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Stoneman Douglas, who comes in off a win.
Stoneman Douglas came into Monday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Pompano Beach, posting a 61-8 win at home. Stoneman Douglas has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 28 points or more this season.
Taravella lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Monday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Boyd Anderson at home and fell 52-25. Taravella was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-7.
Stoneman Douglas' win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Taravella, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Stoneman Douglas strolled past the Trojans in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 by a score of 51-36. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stoneman Douglas since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
