Basketball Recap: Alameda Snaps 11-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Alameda). They were the clear victor by a 59-33 margin over the DSST: College View Wolves on Monday. Fans of the Pirates have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Claire To continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5 of 11 on her way to 12 points along with seven assists and five steals. Those seven assists gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilliana Casias, who posted 18 points and eight boards.

Alameda smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 16 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Alameda's win ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-0. As for DSST: College View, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-2.

Alameda will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bennett at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025. DSST: College View will take on Girls Athletic Leadership School - Denver in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
