Basketball Game Preview: Duke Tigers vs. Lookeba-Sickles Panthers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Duke Tigers challenge the Lookeba-Sickles Panthers at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday... The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Duke has six straight victories, Lookeba-Sickles has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Duke was able to grind out a solid win over Big Pasture, taking the game 54-44. The 54-point effort marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Lookeba-Sickles didn't have quite enough to beat Carnegie on Tuesday and fell 46-43.

Duke pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 39.7 points. As for Lookeba-Sickles, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Duke against Lookeba-Sickles in their previous matchup back in February of 2020, as the team secured an 80-39 win. Does Duke have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lookeba-Sickles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
