Volleyball Recap: Mathis Comes Up Short

Mathis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ray Texans.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Mathis sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 15-25, 15-10.

Mathis' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Ray, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-11.

Looking ahead, Mathis will welcome San Diego at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Ray, they have already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Refugio on the 28th.
