Basketball Recap: Anthony Toriz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ceiba College Preparatory Academy over Anzar

Ceiba College Preparatory Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They took a hard 44-28 fall against the Anzar Hawks. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-44 back in January.

Ceiba College Preparatory Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Anthony Toriz, who posted 18 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 64.3% of Ceiba College Preparatory Academy's points, marking the ninth time in a row Toriz has scored more than a third of the team's points. Jaden Bermudez also deserves some recognition as he grabbed his first steal of the season.
