Baseball Recap: Berkeley Victorious

While Berkeley put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Alameda. Berkeley came out on top against Alameda by a score of 3-0. That's two games straight that the Yellowjackets have won by exactly three runs.

Not much got past Sasha Spahr, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Alameda off the board. Spahr also tossed no walks, which is notable because Berkeley is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Arson Ormsby was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

Berkeley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. Alameda's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Berkeley will have a chance to go back-to-back against Alameda: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
