VERMILION, Ohio - After trading leads three times,
Vermilion (Ohio) snatched the lead for good when they ran for a touchdown in the third quarter, paving the way for victory over
Clearview (Lorain, Ohio) 27-21.
The Sailors expanded their lead to six points entering the fourth quarter. Vermilion scored two times in the third, including once on a rushing touchdown.
The final score was a stunner, as VHS was ranked No. 600 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Ohio, far below Clearview's spot at No. 499.
The Sailors also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 21-14.
