Football Game Preview: Dysart Demons vs. Shadow Mountain Matadors

Dysart is a perfect 3-0 against Shadow Mountain since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Demons will host the Matadors at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Friday, Dysart ended up a good deal behind Seton Catholic and lost 31-16.

Dysart might have lost, but man, Donovan Hinchey was a machine: he picked up 155 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 64 yards on only seven carries. Hinchey's longest reception was for an impressive 57 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per catch total. Josiah Laborin was another key player, throwing for 233 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt.

Dysart didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Hinchey and Frank Ramirez.

Meanwhile, Shadow Mountain and Sierra Linda were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Shadow Mountain suffered a 14-13 defeat.

Even if they lost, Shadow Mountain's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Leading the way was Logan Lovenduski with four. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with ten.

Dysart has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.3 points over those games. As for Shadow Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Everything came up roses for Dysart against Shadow Mountain in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 49-0 win. Do the Demons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Matadors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
