Softball Game Preview: Cedar Reds vs. Dixie Flyers

For the second straight game, Cedar will face off against Dixie. The Reds will welcome the Flyers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cedar is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Cedar came out on top against Dixie on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Reds blew past the Flyers 9-3. The Reds haven't had any issues with the Flyers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Kaycee Adams and Karli Adams were major factors no matter where they played. Throwing, Adams didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Meanwhile, Karli tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the most strikeouts Kaycee has posted since back in March. At the plate, Adams went 1-for-3 with one home run, while Karli went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sloane Fielding, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.

Cedar kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Dixie is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-6. As for Cedar, they now have a winning record of 9-8.

Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Cedar hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .360. However, it's not like Dixie struggles in that department as they've averaged .337. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
