Basketball Recap: Marana Now 10-3 over Last 13 Games

Marana lost to Sunnyside back in February of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Marana Tigers strolled past the Sunnyside Blue Devils with points to spare, taking the game 81-62.

Despite the loss, Sunnyside still got an impressive performance from Manuel Moreno, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 26 points. Jose Nieblas was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 13 points.

Marana is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.7 points per game. As for Sunnyside, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Marana will welcome Rincon/University at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rincon/University is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.3 points per game this season. As for Sunnyside, they will head out on the road to take on Dobson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sunnyside also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 61.8 points per game.
