Softball Recap: Palmyra-Macedon's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

Palmyra-Macedon dropped their record down to 4-2 on Saturday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Mynderse Academy Blue Devils by a score of 15-14. The Red Raiders were not able to make up for their loss to the Blue Devils from their previous meeting back in April of 2024.

Elianna Rouland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Shelby Geer was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and one triple.

As for Mynderse Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games.

On Mynderse Academy's side, Hannah O'Brien was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Mercedes Santana, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Coming up, Mynderse Academy will venture away from home to take on Newark at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Palmyra-Macedon will be paying especially close attention to the Blue Devils' matchup: after the Blue Devils face off against the Reds, they'll take on Palmyra-Macedon again at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
