Football Recap: Conard Comes Up Short

Conard lost against Maloney back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Wolves took a 27-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spartans. While losing is never fun, the Red Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Connecticut football rankings (they are ranked 68th, while the Spartans are ranked 19th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maloney to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devan Bacote, who rushed for 103 yards and two touchdowns. Another back making a difference was Trayvon Harrell, who rushed for 82 yards and one TD on only ten carries.

Conard now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Maloney, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Conard has already played their next matchup, an 80-68 victory against East Hartford on the 4th. As for Maloney, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 37-14 win against Manchester on the 3rd.
