Basketball Game Preview: Irion County Hornets vs. Garden City Bearkats

The Irion County Hornets will take on the Garden City Bearkats at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Irion County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 211 points over their last three matchups.

Irion County will head into Tuesday's game on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking three-point defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Blackwell on Tuesday. Irion County blew past Blackwell 84-19. Irion County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Garden City didn't have too much trouble with Bronte on Tuesday as they won 48-33.

Garden City's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-12. As for Irion County, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.

Irion County strolled past Garden City in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 43-25. Will Irion County repeat their success, or does Garden City have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
