Basketball Game Preview: Northland Prep Academy Spartans vs. Hopi Bruins

The Northland Prep Academy Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Hopi Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Northland Prep Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Hopi likes a good challenge.

On Saturday, Northland Prep Academy didn't have too much trouble with Round Valley as they won 60-41. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Elks are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Hopi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 58-40 bruising from Valley.

Northland Prep Academy is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Hopi, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Northland Prep Academy came up short against Hopi in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 50-43. Can Northland Prep Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
