Recap: Providence-St. Mel Knights vs. Providence Catholic Celtics
The Providence-St. Mel Knights's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 68-39 loss at the hands of Providence Catholic. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Providence-St. Mel in their matchups with Providence Catholic: they've now lost four in a row.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Victor Norris, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Lachon Adams, who scored ten points.
Providence-St. Mel has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Providence Catholic, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11.
Providence-St. Mel will take on Leo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Providence Catholic, they will head out on the road to square off against Hinsdale South at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hinsdale South knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Providence Catholic likes a good challenge.
