Recap: Xavier College Prep Gators vs. Desert Vista Thunder
The Xavier College Prep Gators put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 53-39 win over Desert Vista. For Xavier College Prep, this counts as revenge for the 78-65 loss Desert Vista walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.
Xavier College Prep got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sarah Miller out in front who scored 18 points along with 3 steals. Miller is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now stole two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmine Olivar, who scored 14 points.
Several Thunder players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dylan Swindle, who scored 17 points. Another player making a difference was Eanae Dagons, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds.
Xavier College Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Desert Vista, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Xavier College Prep will be playing in front of their home fans against Millennium at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Millennium focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Wednesday. As for Desert Vista, they will square off against Centennial at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
