Basketball Game Preview: St. Margaret's Scotties vs. Hampton Christian Academy Warriors

The St. Margaret's Scotties will host the Hampton Christian Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Margaret's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.8 points per game this season.

St. Margaret's saw some tournament action last Tuesday. They fell 60-47 to Trinity Episcopal. The Scotties haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Despite their loss, St. Margaret's saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tara Vulovic, who posted 12 points, was perhaps the best of all. That's the most points Vulovic has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Jade Wright, who scored 11 points.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Hampton Christian Academy walked away with it. They claimed a resounding 61-33 victory over the Kavaliers. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 24 points or more this season.

St. Margaret's better focus on containing Jayla Crosby and Mahdy Sigler as the pair were huge in Hampton Christian Academy's win. Crosby en route to 28 points, while Sigler dropped a double-double with 12 points and 19 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Crosby has scored at least a third of Hampton Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lexie Dennis, who earned 12 points and five assists.

Hampton Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 12-5. As for St. Margaret's, their defeat dropped their record down to 18-9.
