Rocori was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Sauk Rapids-Rice on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers stepped up to hand the Storm a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Rocori's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Sauk Rapids-Rice, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-10.

Rocori and Sauk Rapids-Rice could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Minnesota Rankings. The Spartans (ranked 108th) will meet St. Cloud Cathedral (ranked 21st) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Sauk Rapids-Rice will square off against Cambridge-Isanti at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (167 vs. 13).
