Basketball Game Preview: North Garland Raiders vs. Garland Owls

North Garland hasn't had much luck against Garland recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The North Garland Raiders will be playing in front of their home fans against the Garland Owls at 2:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

North Garland is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 67-57 to Rowlett.

Meanwhile, Garland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 67-42 to Wylie East. While losing is never fun, the Owls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1205th, while the Raiders are ranked 224th).

North Garland will have to contain Luca Perez as he made an impact in Garland's last game. He posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Ibeneme, who had nine points.

Garland's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for North Garland, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

North Garland strolled past Garland in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 66-48. Will North Garland repeat their success, or does Garland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
