Meanwhile, Taft narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Chicago Washington 2-1.
Taft had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 25-23.
Westinghouse's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Taft, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-14.
