The New Hartford Spartans will head out to square off against the Oneida Express at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. New Hartford is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.

New Hartford will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Holland Patent on Monday. The Spartans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Golden Knights a 21-0 shutout. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Spartans as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Addie Way was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. That double marked the first that she has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Norah Galiulo, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

New Hartford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .659. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Oneida came up short against Rome Free Academy on Monday, falling 14-2. The Express have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Oneida's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for New Hartford, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.

New Hartford took their win against Oneida in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 13-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
