Huskies improve to 17-0 this season, win 52nd game in a row.

One-loss Damien (La Verne) looked like a formidable challenger Tuesday night to high school basketball juggernaut Chino Hills (Calif.), winners of 51 in a row entering the contest.

Instead, the defending section, state and national champions turned the Baseline League showdown into a runaway 119-84 win.

Chino Hills (17-0) had 66 points at halftime and went on to top the century mark for the eighth time this season.

Sophomore point guard LaMelo Ball led the way with 35 points while senior brother LiAngelo added 22 and Elizjah Scott 21.

Transfer and Division I prospect Ofure Ujadughele contributed 10 points in his Chino Hills debut.

Of interest on the Damien side of the box score was Cameron Shelton piling up 34 points in the loss. The junior guard was the sixth man for Chino Hills a year ago.

The Huskies, ranked No. 2 nationally this week by MaxPreps, will go for consecutive win No. 53 on Friday against Etiwanda.
In the absence of older brother and current UCLA fab freshman Lonzo Ball, sophomore LaMelo Ball has emerged as one of high school basketball's biggest attractions.
