Baseball Recap: Broomfield Makes It Six in a Row on the Road

Broomfield won against Mullen last Tuesday with eight runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Broomfield Eagles were the clear victor by an 8-1 margin over the Douglas County Huskies. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won three in a row.

Broomfield got a great performance from Ethan Zufall as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That one hit allowed gave Zufall a new career-low.

At the plate, Caden Williamson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Brendan Fritch, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Broomfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Douglas County only managed five hits.

Broomfield's win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Douglas County, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-1.

Looking ahead, Broomfield will face off against Fairview at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Douglas County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Arapahoe at 4:15 p.m.
