Basketball Recap: Walter Northway Comes Up Short

Walter Northway was the 73-64 winner over Susitna Valley when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Walter Northway Warriors took an 87-82 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Susitna Valley Rams. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Walter Northway's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Susitna Valley, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.

Walter Northway will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Effie Kokrine Charter at 7:00 p.m. on February 28th. As for Susitna Valley, they and Nunamiut will face off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Nunamiut knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven games -- so hopefully Susitna Valley likes a good challenge.
