Baseball Game Preview: Lake Region Thunder vs. Ridge Community Bolts

The Lake Region Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the Ridge Community Bolts at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake Region is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Lake Region picked up another tournament win on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-4 margin over Ridge Community. The Thunder might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Dan Colon was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Jomar Caceres was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Lake Region was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Ridge Community has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.4 runs over those games. Lake Region's win bumped their record up to 7-9.
