Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Prep Patriots vs. Presbyterian Christian Bobcats

The Jackson Prep Patriots will venture away from home to face off against the Presbyterian Christian Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Jackson Prep strolled past Hartfield Academy with points to spare, taking the game 37-23. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Hawks are ranked 96th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything went Presbyterian Christian's way against St. Joseph Catholic on Tuesday as Presbyterian Christian made off with a 49-27 win. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Jackson Prep is also on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Presbyterian Christian, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-6.

Jackson Prep didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Presbyterian Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 41-36 win.
