Football Game Preview: Foresthill Wildfires vs. Mira Loma Matadors

The Foresthill Wildfires are taking a road trip to take on the Mira Loma Matadors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are still undefeated after six games, but that won't be the case come Friday.

On Friday, Foresthill got the win against Valley Christian by a conclusive 28-6. The result was nothing new for the Wildfires, who have now won three matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

Vincent Navarro continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 178 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry. Navarro is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 147 every time he's taken the field this season.

Foresthill didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Navarro and David Silveria. Foresthill got some further help from Gabriel Navarro: he picked up two sacks and made four total tackles.

Meanwhile, Mira Loma was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Encina 46-6. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-0.

Foresthill better keep an eye on Deangelo Keys. He was instrumental in Mira Loma's win, throwing for 102 yards and three touchdowns on only seven passes.

Foresthill's record now sits at 6-0. As for Mira Loma, their record is now an identical 6-0.

Foresthill couldn't quite finish off Mira Loma in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 and fell 30-27. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Keys, who threw for 191 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 41 yards and one score. Now that the Wildfires know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
