Volleyball Recap: Martinsville Find Success

Martinsville won the last time they faced Shelbyville and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Artesians walked away with a 3-1 win over the Golden Bears.

Martinsville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-27, 25-22, 25-17, 25-17.

Among those leading the charge was River Jackson, who had 22 digs and two aces. That's the most aces he has posted over his last nine games. Max Littell also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Martinsville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-12 record this season. As for Shelbyville, they dropped their record down to 7-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Martinsville has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Franklin Community on the 8th. As for Shelbyville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 defeat against Christel House on the 8th.
