Basketball Recap: Stephens County Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Stephens County had lost three straight at home, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 2-7 to make it four. They fell 49-40 to the West-Oak Warriors. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 60-51.

As for West-Oak, the victory snapped their losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 2-7 record. The final result isn't all that surprising considering their considerable advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 229th in South Carolina, while Stephens County is ranked 472nd in Georgia).

West-Oak was led to victory by Harry Burgess and Cole Brucke. Burgess dropped a double-double with 18 points and 13 rebounds, while Brucke posted 12 points and six boards. Brett Winegard was another key player, putting up four points and five boards.

Stephens County has already played their next game (against Pendleton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West-Oak will take on Pickens in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
