Baseball Game Preview: Alta Hawks vs. Skyline Eagles

For the second straight game, Alta will face off against Skyline. The Hawks will host the Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Alta is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Alta barely beat Skyline the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Hawks blew past the Eagles 12-3 on Wednesday. 12 seems to be a good number for the Hawks as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Alexandros Price spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Alta is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-7 otherwise.

At the plate, McCoy Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Crew Scheel, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Alta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive games.

Alta's victory bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Skyline, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
