Football Game Preview: Cambridge Bears vs. Central Lions + Official Tickets

Two dominant signal callers in Connor Langford and JR Harris are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Cambridge Bears will face off against the Central Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Cambridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They skirted past Ola 24-21. That's two games straight that the Bears have won by exactly three points.

Cambridge's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Drew Hardwick, who picked up 123 receiving yards and one score. Those 123 receiving yards gave Hardwick a new career-high. Cambridge also got a significant boost from Brooks Malone, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 119 yards.

Meanwhile, Central put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Tucker by a score of 33-21. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Lions' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 38th, while the Tigers are ranked 133rd).

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Harris and Jace German. Harris had a great game and threw for 193 yards and a pair of TDs on only 18 passes. Meanwhile, German did his best for the losing side, rushing for 92 yards and one touchdown.

Central's defense made their presence known, laying out German seven times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Tucker's side was Jarell Long, who picked up a sack and made 14 total tackles.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 11-0. As for Cambridge, their win bumped their record up to 9-2.

Cambridge strolled past Central in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 41-22. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
