Jefferson County scored the most runs they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the Gadsden County Jaguars, falling 21-15. The Tigers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it eight in a row.

Liria Vargas made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of T'Niah Dunlap, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Jefferson County's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Gadsden County, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Coincidentally, Jefferson County and Gadsden County will both be playing Malone the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Jaguars will host them at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
