The Mt. Carmel Golden Aces are taking a road trip to take on the Cisne Runnin' Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Carmel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.

Mt. Carmel easily dispatched Wayne City on Tuesday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Golden Aces fell just short of Evansville Christian by a score of 9-7 on Wednesday. It was the first time this season that the Golden Aces let down their fans at home.

River Deisher made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Asher Coston also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Meanwhile, Cisne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fairfield.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Cisne, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.

Mt. Carmel took their victory against Cisne in their previous matchup back in May of 2021 by a conclusive 13-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Aces since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
