The Chadwick Dolphins will take on the Santa Clarita Christian Cardinals at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Chadwick faced Flintridge Prep in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Chadwick came out on top in a nail-biter against Flintridge Prep and snuck past 23-21.
Chadwick had a senior duo take command as Joshua Goodman picked up 104 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Thomas Rosso threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns. Goodman was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 60 yards.
Meanwhile, Santa Clarita Christian stacked a fifth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They breezed by Lancaster Baptist on the road to the tune of 40-12. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Santa Clarita Christian had established a 21 point advantage.
Santa Clarita Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Cayden Rappleye out in front who rushed for 122 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 81 yards and a touchdown. Eli Duhm got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Chadwick's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Santa Clarita Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Friday's game as both teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Chadwick commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 4.6 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Santa Clarita Christian struggles in that department as they've been even better at 5.1 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Friday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
