Softball Game Preview: Wissahickon Trojans vs. Abington Galloping Ghosts

The Wissahickon Trojans will face off against the Abington Galloping Ghosts at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Wissahickon is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They came up short against William Tennent, falling 13-1.

Julia Lentz made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. Giuliana Schumann also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Abington suffered their biggest defeat since April 11, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 8-1 to Upper Dublin.

Abington saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sammi Clewell, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Abington's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Wissahickon, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Wissahickon suffered a grim 17-4 defeat to Abington when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Can Wissahickon avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
