Basketball Recap: Weber Warriors vs. American Fork Cavemen
Weber was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 45-37 defeat to the American Fork Cavemen. That's two games in a row now that the Warriors have lost by exactly eight points.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abby Sayer, who posted 15 points. Sayer is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylee Jugler, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.
Weber's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for American Fork, with the victory, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Weber will challenge Riverton at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverton is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.7 points per game this season. As for American Fork, they are taking a road trip to take on Davis at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Davis will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something American Fork surely won't give up without a fight.
