Basketball Recap: Waskom Comes Up Short

Waskom lost against Tenaha back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Waskom Wildcats took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tenaha Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1023rd, while the Tigers are ranked 404th).

Waskom's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Tenaha, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season.

Waskom will look to defend their home court on Friday against Joaquin at 7:15 p.m. As for Tenaha, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Tenaha Tigers face off against the Beckville Bearcats at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
