Vacaville entered their tilt with Pioneer on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the Patriots.

Dom Yacovetti and Caden Whitten did most of the damage at the plate: Yacovetti scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4, while Whitten scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases Whitten has posted since back in March. Rome Griego was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Vacaville's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Pioneer, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-9.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Patriots beat Vacaville by a score of 5-3 on Thursday.
