Basketball Recap: Hunter Daffron's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sweetwater over Mcminn Central

After flying high against Greenback last Tuesday, Sweetwater came back down to earth. The Sweetwater Wildcats fell to the McMinn Central Chargers 59-54. The Wildcats were probably out for revenge after losing 71-49 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Sweetwater's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hunter Daffron, who posted 11 points along with five assists and five boards. Daffron is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bryson Burgess, who put up 15 points and five rebounds.

Sweetwater's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for McMinn Central, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.

Sweetwater has already played their next contest, a 51-38 win against Meigs County on the 24th. McMinn Central has also already played their next match (against Tellico Plains), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
