Basketball Game Preview: Rushford-Peterson Trojans vs. St. Charles Fighting Saints

The Rushford-Peterson Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the St. Charles Fighting Saints at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Rushford-Peterson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight games.

Rushford-Peterson will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating Plainview-Elgin-Millville, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. Rushford-Peterson walked away with a 68-56 victory over Plainview-Elgin-Millville on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, St. Charles was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 89-27 loss at the hands of Caledonia. While losing is never fun, the Fighting Saints can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 357th, while the Warriors are ranked 30th).

Rushford-Peterson is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points per game. As for St. Charles, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything came up roses for Rushford-Peterson against St. Charles in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-25 win. Will Rushford-Peterson repeat their success, or does St. Charles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
