Softball Recap: Rivercrest Gets the Win

Rivercrest made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Harrisburg, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Colts' pitcher stepped up to hand the Hornets an 11-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Colts have won four matchups by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Karlee Cullom was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoiey Fox, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Rivercrest always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harrisburg only posted an OBP of .111.

Rivercrest's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Harrisburg, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rivercrest will venture away from home to face off against Newport at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harrisburg, they will head out to take on Marked Tree at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
