Volleyball Recap: Forest City Foresters vs. Western Wayne Wildcats
Forest City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Western Wayne Wildcats, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Foresters of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.
The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 25-8, 25-18.
Western Wayne found their leader in sophomore Abbie Washine, who had 22 assists and seven aces. Those 22 assists set a new season-high mark for Washine. Kyleigh Turner also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Forest City's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Western Wayne, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5.
We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Forest City will take on rival Lakeland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Western Wayne is set to square off against their familiar foe Susquehanna at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
