Volleyball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Springstead

Springstead had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Hernando Leopards with a sharp 3-0 victory. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Leopards two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Springstead never let Hernando on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-22, 25-15.

Kat Schrade paced Springstead's offense, picking up 12 kills. Schrade got some help from Mackenna Chambers and her 25 assists. Chambers was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Springstead's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Hernando, they dropped their record down to 7-13 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springstead will venture away from home to face off against Central at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. After both having extra time off, Hernando and Citrus will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
